Urban Landscape Architect Recruitment
No Fee Until You Hire
WHY THIS ROLE IS HARD TO HIRE
- Urban Landscape Architects must combine landscape design expertise with an understanding of urban systems, public spaces, infrastructure, and community needs. Employers need professionals who can develop compelling designs while responding to complex site, regulatory, environmental, and operational constraints.
- The strongest candidates can coordinate across architects, urban planners, civil engineers, municipalities, developers, contractors, and community stakeholders. In addition, experience with large-scale public projects, streetscapes, green infrastructure, public-realm design, and urban development can make certain candidates particularly valuable.
- Because urban projects involve multiple disciplines and stakeholders, experienced professionals with both design and coordination capabilities can be difficult to find. Brightway helps organizations identify Urban Landscape Architects whose project experience, technical expertise, design approach, and communication skills align with their specific requirements.
Brightway helps you find the right talent faster.
Brightway recruits Urban Landscape Architect professionals with advanced landscape design, urban site-planning, and multidisciplinary coordination capabilities. We evaluate candidates against each organization's project scale, design requirements, stakeholder environment, and technical needs.

What does a Urban Landscape Architect Do?
Urban Site Planning
An Urban Landscape Architect evaluates urban sites, surrounding development, circulation patterns, environmental conditions, and community needs. This analysis informs landscape strategies that respond to the broader urban context.
Public-Realm Design
They design parks, plazas, streetscapes, civic spaces, waterfronts, greenways, and other public environments. Design solutions balance aesthetics, accessibility, safety, functionality, and user experience.
Green Infrastructure & Resilience
Urban Landscape Architects may integrate stormwater management, urban vegetation, shade, habitat, permeable surfaces, and other resilience strategies. These approaches can support environmental performance while improving public spaces.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
They collaborate with urban planners, architects, civil engineers, transportation professionals, municipalities, developers, and contractors. Coordination helps integrate landscape solutions with buildings, infrastructure, utilities, and transportation systems.
Construction Documentation & Implementation
They prepare or oversee landscape drawings, specifications, details, and other technical documents required for implementation. During later project stages, they may also assist with construction coordination and design review.
