State and Local Tax Manager Recruitment
No Fee Until You Hire
WHY THIS ROLE IS HARD TO HIRE
- Hiring an experienced State and Local Tax Manager requires more than general tax or accounting knowledge. Organizations need professionals who understand the complexities of state and local tax requirements, including jurisdictional rules, nexus, filing obligations, sales and use tax, income tax, and changing state regulations.
- State and local tax responsibilities can span numerous jurisdictions with different rules, deadlines, reporting requirements, and enforcement practices. Therefore, employers often seek candidates with specialized SALT expertise, strong research abilities, and practical experience managing multi-jurisdictional tax matters.
- Furthermore, State and Local Tax Managers must balance technical tax responsibilities with client or stakeholder communication, audit management, planning, and engagement deadlines. Professionals who can interpret complex jurisdictional requirements and translate them into practical business recommendations can be difficult to attract.
