A Quality Control Manager oversees the processes used to verify that industrial construction work complies with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, testing requirements, and contractual obligations. The role works closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, testing personnel, and owners to establish and maintain project quality requirements. Strong Quality Control Managers combine technical knowledge with practical field experience. They coordinate inspections and testing, review materials and workmanship, maintain quality records, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are completed. They also help project teams identify recurring quality issues early, reducing the potential for rework, delays, failed inspections, and problems during commissioning and turnover.
