What does a Production Manager Do?
Manage Production Operations
The Production Manager oversees daily manufacturing activities to ensure production plans, quality requirements, safety standards, and delivery objectives are achieved.
Lead Production Teams
Leads supervisors, operators, and production personnel while coordinating staffing, training, resources, and performance expectations.
Monitor Production Performance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily aerospace manufacturing operations and ensure production plans are achieved safely, efficiently, and according to established quality requirements.
- Lead production teams, manage staffing and resources, and establish performance expectations across manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production schedules, throughput, quality, labor utilization, equipment performance, and other operational metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and operations teams to resolve production issues and maintain workflow.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase productivity, reduce downtime and waste, improve quality, and strengthen production performance.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
5-10+ years of experience in production management, manufacturing operations, aerospace manufacturing, production supervision, or a related discipline, preferably within aerospace or other complex manufacturing environments.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
Certifications
Lean Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, operations management, or other relevant manufacturing and leadership certifications can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
