About the MEP Engineer Role

An MEP Engineer provides engineering and technical support for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. Depending on the project and employer, the role may focus on design review, construction engineering, technical coordination, equipment selection, calculations, submittals, RFIs, field support, or system commissioning. Strong MEP Engineers understand both engineering requirements and construction realities. They review drawings and specifications, coordinate system interfaces, identify constructability issues, respond to technical questions, support equipment and material selections, and work with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and other engineers to resolve conflicts before they affect installation. Their technical oversight helps ensure MEP systems meet design intent, applicable requirements, and project performance objectives.

What does a MEP Engineer Do?

Review MEP Design

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Certifications
