What does a Continuous Improvement Manager Do?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across automotive manufacturing operations, focusing on productivity, quality, safety, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Identify process inefficiencies, production bottlenecks, waste, quality issues, and other opportunities for operational improvement.
- Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, value-stream mapping, and other structured improvement methodologies.
- Partner with production, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and other teams to implement and sustain process improvements.
- Track improvement KPIs, document project results, communicate progress to leadership, and ensure implemented improvements deliver sustainable business value.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
5-10+ years of experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, operational excellence, lean manufacturing, process improvement, or a related discipline, preferably within automotive or industrial manufacturing.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Certifications
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Lean Manufacturing credentials, or other relevant continuous improvement certifications can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
