What does a Manufacturing Engineer Do?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes used to produce electronic products and components.
- Analyze production performance, process capability, defects, downtime, and other manufacturing metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support new product introduction, production transfers, equipment installation, tooling development, process validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Collaborate with production, design engineering, quality, supply chain, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, process stability, product quality, throughput, and manufacturing cost.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
3-8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production engineering, electronics manufacturing, or a related discipline, preferably within a high-volume or technically complex manufacturing environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Certifications
Lean Six Sigma, IPC-related training, manufacturing process certifications, or other relevant engineering and manufacturing credentials can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
