What does a Supply Chain Manager Do?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage supply plans that support production schedules, customer demand, and business objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance, capacity, delivery commitments, and supply risks across the electronics manufacturing supply base.
- Monitor inventory levels, material requirements, lead times, and component availability to prevent shortages and excessive inventory.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, manufacturing, engineering, finance, and operations teams to resolve supply chain issues.
- Implement supply chain improvements that increase material availability, improve delivery performance, reduce inventory costs, and strengthen operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
5-10+ years of experience in supply chain management, supply planning, procurement, materials management, operations, or a related discipline, preferably within electronics manufacturing or a complex manufacturing environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Certifications
APICS/ASCM certifications such as CPIM or CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant supply chain and operations credentials can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
