What does a Test Engineer Do?
Develop Test Processes
The Test Engineer develops testing methods, procedures, and systems used to verify electronic products and components during manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, validate, and maintain test processes for electronic products and components.
- Design or improve automated and manual test systems, fixtures, procedures, and equipment used in production.
- Troubleshoot test failures and perform failure analysis to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, design engineering, quality, process engineering, and production teams to resolve testing and product issues.
- Analyze test data and implement improvements that increase test coverage, reliability, product quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
3-8+ years of experience in test engineering, electronics engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or a related discipline, preferably within an electronics manufacturing environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Certifications
Relevant test engineering, electronics manufacturing, automation, Lean Six Sigma, or IPC-related training can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
