What does a Process Engineer Do?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and improve food and beverage manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, throughput, reliability, and product consistency.
- Monitor production data, process performance, downtime, waste, and other operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop, test, and implement process improvements, equipment modifications, operating procedures, and manufacturing solutions.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to troubleshoot process issues and maintain reliable manufacturing operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce waste, improve productivity, control costs, strengthen process consistency, and increase manufacturing capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
3-8+ years of experience in process engineering, food and beverage manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or a related discipline, preferably within a commercial production environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Certifications
Lean Six Sigma, HACCP, food safety, process improvement, or other relevant engineering and manufacturing certifications can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
