What does a Sanitation Manager Do?
Lead Sanitation Operations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead sanitation operations and ensure production areas, processing equipment, and facility environments are cleaned according to established requirements.
- Develop and manage sanitation schedules, standard operating procedures, cleaning methods, and sanitation verification activities.
- Manage sanitation personnel, training, supplies, chemicals, equipment, and daily sanitation resources.
- Collaborate with quality, production, maintenance, engineering, and safety teams to address sanitation issues and support food safety requirements.
- Monitor sanitation performance and implement improvements that strengthen cleaning effectiveness, hygiene, compliance, and overall manufacturing performance.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
5-10+ years of experience in sanitation, food safety, quality, manufacturing operations, or a related discipline, preferably within food and beverage manufacturing.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent industry experience may also be considered.
Certifications
HACCP, PCQI, food safety, sanitation, environmental monitoring, or other relevant food manufacturing certifications can be beneficial depending on employer requirements.
