What does a Field Engineer Do?
Support Technical Execution
Reviews drawings, specifications, contract documents, and technical requirements to support field construction activities.
Manage RFIs & Submittals
Coordinates RFIs, submittals, technical clarifications, and engineering responses between project and field teams.
Document Field Conditions
Records existing conditions, quantities, measurements, progress, and technical information needed for construction decisions.
Resolve Construction Issues
Works with engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and project managers to identify and resolve technical and field conflicts.
Support Quality & Closeout
Supports inspections, quality documentation, as-built information, punch-list activities, and project closeout requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review drawings, specifications, contract documents, and technical requirements for field execution.

- Work with project managers, engineers, superintendents, surveyors, and subcontractors to resolve technical and field issues.
- Support quality control, project documentation, as-built information, punch-list activities, and successful project closeout.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
3-10+ years of infrastructure construction, field engineering, construction engineering, or related experience.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent construction experience may qualify.
Certifications
EIT, OSHA 30, or other relevant engineering and construction credentials can be beneficial.
